A Special Day

In the book: "I'll be there in 1, 2, 3"

A Special Day

A special day

Today the sky hands out the tickets.
The house of mirrors
gives the water
a thousand reflections.
Disoriented...
she settles into the roller coaster
without realizing that

she transcends the heights.
The warmth condenses her.
The wind confuses the clouds:
it stretches them, widens them, thickens them.
The gray ones, the pale or greenish ones,
have fun on the carousel,
others scream with fear
on the ghost train.
The ones that defy balance
ride the bumper cars
and evaporate again.
They scatter

among bluish grays,
jet blacks
or leaden blues.

They are about to begin the descent.
On the Ferris wheel
they feel cold.
They ask the water slide
to take the last tickets,
they know the rain is imminent.
