The accents went mad
In the book: Trilogy; "I arrive in I, two, 3"

The accents went mad
They go around wanting to settle scores,as if they were neighborhood bosses,
never suspecting that some
vowels are shy... almost bashful,
and need help to raise their voices.
The poor things seek refuge
among diphthongs and triphthongs,
who serve as official bodyguards:
the famous "thongs,"
always so obliging.
But the accent marks... oh, the accent marks.
Those ones come in with euphoria,
they leap without asking permission
and land on top of any distracted vowel,
leaving it with a face that says...
"and now what do I do up here?"
