Time came to take it out of the drawer

Incredibly bell-shaped
was the skirt
that had me in love.
Absolutely fuchsia
and completely striped
"It doesn't suit you,
your figure isn't enough for a fitted cut"—
those were the words
that lodged themselves in my heart.
It stayed put away in the wardrobe,
until one day,
those stripes wrapped around
my daughter's silhouette.
At four years old,
her dress was
what one day
had been my skirt
Today I look at the photos,
I look at the fabric
and I also contemplate my nostalgia,
dressed entirely in joy.
