Verse

Silence, they sleep

In the book: Trilogy: "I arrive in I, two, 3"

Silence, they sleep

Silence, they sleep

Turn down the volume,
for the light is faint.
Photosynthesis embraces
the sated cells.
They bend, patient,
until daybreak.
And the leaves...
they watch the roots
upon the fine veins.
Better rested sap
than torment in the thicket.
When the dawn breathes gold,
green songs
will drink the dew again
beneath the pulse that time heals.
