Free Voices of My Life

Free Voices of My Life represents the inner journey of a woman who passes through her own experiences until she finds a voice capable of naming them. The word becomes a gesture of freedom and rebellion against whatever restricts, conditions or silences. Reality appears at times clothed in dreams and at others in all its rawness. 
The blue paths run through the composition, advancing, curving and changing direction. They do not lead toward a single destination: they symbolize the different stages, choices and possibilities of an existence that builds itself as it goes. Upon them appear flowers, leaves and small forms that can be read as the voices, experiences and affections that left their mark.
The dark area in the upper left dialogues with the luminous sectors that gradually open up. That contrast suggests the passage between restrictions and freedom, between what weighs one down and the possibility of finding new horizons. The yellows burst in as flashes of energy and transformation.
The work also brings together the multiple identities from which the author recognizes herself —daughter, sister, wife and mother— until she finds, among them all, the voice of her own soul.

They are not separate lives, but voices of one and the same existence that meet, converse and build an identity of their own.
Along this journey an essential question arises: whether there is coherence between what one feels, what one thinks, what one says and what one finally does. The answer lies not in attaining perfection, but in allowing oneself to choose, to be wrong, and to begin again. 

Free Voices of My Life speaks, in the end, of a freedom that does not consist in living without fear, but in recognizing it and continuing in spite of it. The painting thus transforms the path traveled into an affirmation of identity: every curve holds an experience; every flower, a voice; every opening, the possibility of choosing again.
To be free is to find one's own voice and dare to live according to it, even while afraid.

Free Voices of My Life

The word sets the voices free
and the poems... life itself,
rebellion against rigidity
and the restrictions of one's own echoes.
The surroundings are an observed reflection
of a reality that sometimes dresses itself in dreams
and other times in raw truth.

I have tried to capture my essence
seeing myself as daughter, sister, wife, mother;
I found the voice of my soul
in its many facets,
a sincere expression of feeling,
with thoughts and visions
beyond time and space.

I found a refuge for my emotions,
that spark of inspiration
that echoes through my existence
and invites me to explore
new forms and dimensions.
Do I feel what I think?
Do I say what I feel and think?

Do I do what I feel, think and say?
I am who I choose to be
in order to do myself good.
I no longer pretend…
I give myself permission to be wrong
and to start over again.
I accept the fear,
I see it.
I am brave
and I do it differently…
even with fear.
