Ground Zero

Ground Zero represents the symbolic instant in which everything begins and, at the same time, the certainty that nothing remains motionless. The composition is born from a blazing nucleus that draws the gaze and expands in enveloping movements, as if matter, energy and life all arose from a single origin.
The curved, spiraling forms evoke the expansion of suns, supernovas and stellar dust scattering into infinity. Reds, oranges and yellows suggest energy, heat and transformation; the blues and violets introduce depth and mystery, while the textured areas seem to hold a matter that forms, disintegrates and reorganizes itself once again.
The movement of the work also alludes to more intimate processes. What happens in the universe finds its correspondence in the body: cells that renew themselves, tissues that regenerate and neurons that need their own time. The cosmic and the human thus share one same principle of constant transformation.
The great enveloping form may be visually associated with the sign of infinity, not as identical repetition, but as continuity: to be born, to be transformed, to be renewed and to begin again. Each cycle preserves something of the previous one and, at the same time, generates a new possibility.
In Ground Zero, the origin does not belong solely to the past. It is happening continuously. Matter transforms itself until it attains consciousness, and the human being recognizes itself as part of that universe from which it comes.
The work thus proposes a poetic paradox: we are stardust made consciousness, immersed in a process of renewal that continues, again and again, until the end itself comes to its end.

they fuse the stellar dust
into atoms.
Molecular synthesis
Origin of life!
Cyclical replicas
of constant renewal.
The skin…
regenerates its tissues more quickly.
The neurons…
take their time.
Infinity sign as a symbol
of a process that does not stop
and confirms what I know.
We are stardust
