Love of Root

Love of Root portrays two existences that have grown deeply intertwined. The facing faces evoke the bond and mutual recognition, while the trees and their roots speak of what unites: shared history, lineage, affections and commitments.
But roots can also become a tangle. The work raises the need to distinguish between loving and belonging, between accompanying the other and being trapped in them. To free the union does not necessarily mean to break it, but to untangle it: to allow each one to recover their own space, their thought and their identity.
The central radiance opens a possibility of transformation. There, where both faces meet without touching, a space of light appears: to love can also be to learn to let go without ceasing to love.

For years, I in you…
your emotions were mine.

Half a lifetime, you in me….
my thoughts were yours.

Maddened roots
misunderstood love
it is not enough to feel loved
it is not enough to root a nest.
To know oneself the owner of a commitment,
to bear the weight
of a lineage in the tree …is submissive.
To untangle the snarls in time
to give respite to the oppression
to free the heart
to free, with love, the union.
